Founded by clinicians to provide more accurate diagnosis and precision treatment to patients using a unique set of patented algorithms.
Phyxiom™ is a spin-out company from the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland (RCSI) our technology is the result of over 12 years’ of clinical research and multiple randomised control trials developing a family of patented algorithms and software platforms for the management of chronic respiratory disease.
Our mission is to replicate these better outcomes for the 540 million patients globally with either COPD or Asthma.
Our evidence-based approach has demonstrated results of 30% improvement in controlled asthma through accurate diagnosis, 20% reduction in steroid burden and 60% reduction in step-up treatment.
Using data-driven insight and trend analysis, we give clinicians a perspective of personalised patient care while ensuring seamless integration to the clinicians existing systems and processes with minimum disruption.
Phyxiom™ Solution
Phyxiom™ uses the patient’s own data measured over time unmasking the patient’s treatment effectiveness.
The Phyxiom™ solution combines clinical oversight, analytics and a diagnostics platform.
Integrating smart inhalers and spirometry devices to patient data for time-based analysis the Phyxiom™ platform acts as an intelligent decision support system for physicians, delivering patient clinical data in an easily accessible format seamlessly integrated to their own systems.
Clinicians order a Phyxiom™ programme of digital assessment. During the assessment period the Phyxiom™ clinical team co-ordinate enrolment, monitoring, patient education and provide the multi-measure results back to the clinician in time for their scheduled patient visit.

Grace O’Donnell, CEO
Grace is responsible for the company strategy and vision and runs the business day to day.
She has over 20 years experience in scaling and growing software companies globally. Grace was executive board member leading commercialisation and operations at Information Mosaic across 11 locations globally
Prof. Richard Costello MD FERS FRCPI, CMO
A globally recognised Clinician Scientist expert in chronic airways diseases, Richard pioneered the design of a clinician centred digital health solution following multiple randomised trials. He is a Consultant Physician in Respiratory Medicine at Beaumont Hospital Dublin and a Professor of Medicine at the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland.
Elaine MacHale RGN RCN BSc MSc, Director of Clinical Operations
Elaine is responsible for Phyxiom clinical delivery to clinics and new business take-on. She is a registered nurse and clinical trials manager of multiple clinical research trials. As the lead project manager and clinical nurse Elaine designed and brought to market the Phyxiom digital health solution.
Brian Seery, CTO
Brian is a highly experienced strategic leader with over 20 years experience in IT Strategic Consulting, IT Transformation and Operational excellence.
He is responsible for many innovative practices and frameworks developed during his work on transformational projects that included Product Development, Software Development and Consulting Solutions
Brian Terry, CFO & Company Secretary
Brian oversees all financial operations and is responsible for Phyxiom’s financial strategy and planning.
A Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Ireland and a Chartered Tax Adviser with the Irish Taxation Institute, Brian has with over thirty years experience in delivering value added accountancy, tax and advisory services.
